Blueberry and color Bottle
Metallic blueberry and colors of pink, blue, violet, purple and green combine in this abstract beaded bottle. Sewn with a needle and thread in a technique first used by the Native Americans hundreds of years ago, this unique bottle would be the highlight of any collection. The bottle is fully stitched including the bottom in peyote stitch. This bottle measures 3 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The opening at the top is 1/2" wide. The knife pictured in the painting "Bookcase-Northwest Passage" is pictured on this antique whiskey bottle. The scene on the front depicts where the knife came from. The reverse of the bottle represents a dream-the centuries while this knife was lost. I wonder who made it and how it was lost. I made this bottle with circular Peyote stitch, traditionally used by Native Americans. Each bead is sewn together, one at a time around the bottle. This produces a form-fitting sleeve around the bottle. The stopper was made of Elk Horn by my husband Mike. I used 44 colors of size 15 Miyuki seed beads for this bottle. Pastels and Black Beaded Bottle
This bottle is 3 1/2 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches in diameter. Utilizing peyote stitch, I sewed each bead around this bottle one at a time in tiny size 15 glass beads. There is a rainbow of colors on this bottle including blue, green, pink, peach and yellow. This bottle features black, yellow, blue, green, lavender and orange beads. There are thousands on this bottle, sewn one at a time utilizing the peyote stitch.
