Lakeview House Mural

8/11/16 Update to the Lakeview mural. Dawn wanted some new critters on her house so I added some to the scene.

Before

Most elements of this painting have special meaning for Dawn, the homeowner. I enjoyed hearing about the people in her life that inspired most of the trees, animals and plants in the mural. The left-hand portion of the house is set among the ridgelines of an Arkansas cedar glade. The right-hand portion of the house transitions to a cove on the lake. I did not start with a sketch on this project due partially to the complexity of the surface of the house, the site-lines and I could already see what I wanted in my mind. I enjoyed working on this project and can't wait to do another.

7/17/14 DONE! We will be taking pictures of the mural Saturday

7/16/14, Almost done. I need to paint the post in front of the house with sunflowers.

7/15/14

7/14/14 I painted more on the water, added some fish, worked on the rocks and waterfall/spring, plants and daisies.

7/11/14

7/10/14. Roughing out the corner and starting the garage door today. There's going to be a waterfall on the right hand side of the door.

7/9/14 Finished the water, painted fish and a green heron. I'm heading around the corner and the garage door tomorrow. There's going to be a waterfall.

7/8/14 Rained out today.

7/7/14 I painted another cloud, more water, rocks and a couple of hibiscus plants today. Tomorrow I'll paint the rest of the water and shoreline.

7/3/14 Painted in a trumpet vine and more of the shoreline. I'm going to add a cloud to the left of the window and through it so I can paint the reflection in the water. At the bottom of the wall I want to make it look like you can walk right out into the water.

7/2/14

7/1/14 Started the lake today and mountains in the background. I need to paint more of the sky and cloud in the water tomorrow. (The yellow part will be blue)

6/30/14 I added a frog and started the rocks on the main wall of the house. In the second picture you can see that the rock on the main wall lines up with the rock on the front wall.

6/27/14 Looking into the sun from this angle. Need to add more clouds, ferns and a frog. There's an angry wasp living up in the right hand corner who was dive-bombing me all day.
